Over a week of working together, Bastoni admits the former defender has injected a lot of enthusiasm into the team.

“With Inzaghi, we spent four wonderful years together, but in the end he decided to go his separate ways. We don’t have to blame or curse him,” Bastoni told the club’s official website.

“We need to find new energy after the Champions League final, and head coach Chivu can help with that.”

“Gabi, let’s reflect on the significance of the journey over the years, the positive things after achieving the goals.”

“Ask yourself why you made it to the Champions League final twice, why you could only be the second-place player – looking at it from a human perspective, it is amazing to be able to recover this much feeling.”

“Thank God for allowing the professional footballer to let go of disappointment and move on.”

“We have a new opportunity and we want to make the best of it.”

“With Chivu, I immediately felt the level of humanity. I knew him before because I used to coach Inter Youth, but hearing from his mouth how much we achieved our goals last year was very impressive.”

Chivu also has former player Aleksandar Kolarov as his right-hand man, who has experience playing for Man City and Roma .
